Boomers – Our ground swell!

by Joanna on May 3, 2012

This morning a friend sent me the link for the AGING WELL magazine .  (In case the internet is not your “thing” you can click on the magazine title here in this message and it will take you to their website.)  Anyway– from there I clicked on a list of 100 top boomer websites  http://www.seniorsforliving.com/blog/2011/03/10/top-100-senior-boomer-blogs-websites/   which you can also check out …

The fact is there are TONS of resources  AND …  Hilary and I particularly want to encourage you to make sure that before getting swamped in the sea of information you  set a date for yourself to think about, discuss, complete and register your advanced directive!  Like having  car insurance, we see that action as  bottom line for ensuring that your future has a safety net designed to fit YOUR hopes and beliefs.

My dream would be that anyone  who has a driver’s license is required to also complete an advanced directive.  Why shouldn’t every single person who is permitted to drive a potential machine of death be required to also consider what should be done if they are badly damaged in a car accident?  Thus I don’t really relegate this issue to those 55 and older BUT it’s a good place to start.
